our story
This textile mill was founded in 1999 by Mr. Young S. Kim, of Korean origin, under the name "Fashion Mania," for which Jose Carlos Ortiz worked as a textile technician and general manager for 17 years.
At the beginning of 2016, Mr. Kim offered him the opportunity to buy the company. Despite the effects of the 2008 recession and the intense competition from imported fabrics and textile products, after acquiring ownership, the name changed to Shai-tex Inc.
Jose Carlos Ortiz, president of Shai-tex Inc., originally from Puebla, Mexico, immigrated to Los Angeles, CA, in 1987. At the age of 15, he began working in various textile companies as a janitor, ascending to become a textile technician.
